Cactus Film and Video is a Mexican production company that works extensively with international news broadcasters such as ABC News, BBC and Al Jazeera English, on both news coverage and documentaries. Now we are looking for a new member to complete our team and support our main producer.

Profile

For this position we are looking for someone who is bilingual in Spanish and English, and able to easily translate and interpret between the two languages. You’re a quick and thorough researcher, preferably with experience in broadcast media or other type of news journalism.

As you’ll be working both for Cactus Film and external clients your tasks may be very varied. Everyday duties include monitoring the national news, translating relevant information or interviews on tape, doing research, finding contacts, and formulating pitches. On other occasions you might be assisting clients on their production as a fixer and/or translator. You’ll also be responsible for keeping the information on the Cactus webpage and related databases up to date, and managing promotional material directed at our clients.
